What is SAP Fiori?

SAP Fiori is a design system that enables to create business apps with a consumer-grade user experience, turning casual users into SAP experts with simple screens that run on any device.

SAP Fiori provides 300 plus role based applications like HR, Manufacturing, Finance and etc. When you open the SAP fiori home page application you will find a picture of flowers because Fiori means flowers in Italian language. SAP Fiori provides all real business roles in real time on compatible to all devices likes, desktop, laptop, mobile and tablet.

Types of SAP Fiori Apps

SAP Fiori has three app types each distinguished by their focus and infrastructure requirements.

Transactional Apps

These apps let you perform transactional tasks, such as creating leave request for a employee. They represent simplified views and interaction with existing business processes and solutions. They run best on and SAP HANA database, but can also be ported to other database with acceptable performance.
The following figure shows an overview of system landscape for transactional apps

FACT Sheets

These apps display contextual information and key facts about central objects used in your business operations.
From fact sheet area (tile), you can drill down into details. You can navigate from one fact sheet to its related fact sheets. For example, you can navigate from a document to the related business partner or to the master data.
From fact sheets, you can start transaction by navigating transactional apps, or by accessing the back-end system directly. For example, from document fact sheet, you can access the back-end system to display document details or to edit the document in SAP GUI or Web Dynpro.
Some fact sheets are delivered with an integration feature for a geographical map.
You can call up the fact sheet from the search result displayed in the launchpad, from other fact sheet or from transactional apps and analytical apps. The displayed data is consumed immediately from SAP HANA database.
Fact sheet runs only on a SAP HANA database and require an ABAP stack. They cannot be ported to the SAP HANA live (2 tier) architecture.

Analytical Apps

These apps lets you get a role based insight into real-time operations of your business by collecting and displaying key figures directly in your browder.
Analytical apps combine the data and analytical power of SAP HANA with the integration and interface components of SAP business suite.
Analytical apps helps in monitoring key performing indicators (KPIs) in real time and react immediately on change in market conditions or operations.
Analytical apps run on an SAP HANA database and use virtual data model (VDM).

SAP Smart Business for SAP EWM

SAP Smart Business for Extended Warehouse Management is an SAP Smart Business cockpit provides with an overview of most important key performance indicators for a warehouse supervisor allows to monitor the workload for the shift for outbound and inbound deliveries, to determine overdue deliveries or delivery items in real-time, and to monitor the average goods issue and goods receipt delay time.
