PPF Action in SAP Extended Warehouse Management

 

PPF (Post Processing Framework) Action in SAP EWM is a flexible framework that automates and controls follow-up actions in SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM). It helps streamline processes by triggering actions such as creating, printing, or sending notifications based on predefined conditions.


Key Components of PPF in SAP EWM


  • Action Definition: Specifies what action should be performed, such as sending an email, creating a transfer order, or printing a document.

  • Action Profile: Groups related action definitions together for a particular business process.

  • Condition Records: Defines the conditions under which an action should be triggered.

  • Action Determination: Determines the relevant action to be executed based on the defined conditions.

    Testing Inbound Delivery Process with Automatic Tasks Creation


  1. Create Purchase Order

Step 1: Enter Vendor, Purchasing Organization, Purchasing Group, Company Code

Step 2: Enter Material, Quantity, Plant, Storage Location

Step 3: Confirmation Tab Select Inbound Delivery-0004, and Save

Purchase order 4500005595 created
  1. Create Inbound Delivery

Step 1: Enter Vendor, Purchase Order, External ID

Step 2: Click Pack, Enter Packing Material

Step 3: Select HU and Product, and click on Pack

Step 4: Click on Save

  1. Check Inbound Delivery Warehouse Monitor

Step 1: Enter the Warehouse Number, Monitor, and Execute



Step 2: Enter the Delivery Document Number, and Execute

Step 3: Click on Warehouse Task, here we can see warehouse tasks get created automatically due to PPF Action

Step 4: Click on Warehouse Order, Assign Queue, and Resource

  1. Confirm Warehouse Tasks using RFUI

Step 1: Enter, Warehouse Number, Resource, Default Device, and Enter

Step 2: System-Guided

Step 3: System guided by Queue

Step 3: Enter Queue

Step 4: Scan Source Bin, Source HU

Step 5: Scan Destination Bin, Destination Confirm Warehouse Tasks using RFUI



  1. Check Warehouse Tasks in the Warehouse Monitor

Step 1: Enter the Warehouse Number, Monitor, and Execute

Step 2: Enter the Delivery Document Number, and Execute

Step 3: Click on the Warehouse task, here we can see that the Warehouse Task gets confirmed, The next warehouse task is Opened


  1. Check Warehouse Tasks in the Warehouse Monitor

Step 1: Enter, Warehouse Number, Resource, Default Device, and Enter

Step 2: System-Guided

Step 3: System guided by Queue

Step 4: Enter Queue

Step 5: Scan Source HU

Step 6: Scan Destination Bin, and Destination HU

  1. Check Inbound Delivery Warehouse Task Status in Monitor

  • Warehouse Task get confirmed

  1. Delivery Status in EWM

Step 1: Enter the the Delivery Document, and Execute, we can check, the goods receipt, and put-away activity got competed

Step 2: Click on PPF Action



  1. Display Inbound Delivery in S/4HANA

Step 1: Enter the Delivery Document, and Execute

Step 2: Click on Goods Movement, goods movement got completed

Step 3: Click on Document Flow

Step 4: GR Document, clik on document info, Click on FI Document, FI document generated

Step 5: Storage location to storage location transfer document generated

No Account Document Generated because it is Storage Location to Storage Location Transfer with in same plant

Conclusion

 

The above steps must be followed for the Inbound Process to check automatic warehouse task creation using PPF action.
