Activate Material Ledger in SAP S/4HANA

In this blog we will discuss about activation of material ledger in SAP S/4HANA.

Activation of material ledger is mandatory in SAP S/4HANA

Material ledger in S/4HANA serves two purposes of Actual Costing & Parallel Currencies/Valuation. The objective of parallel currencies or valuation makes the material ledger in S/4HANA as a sub-ledger for inventory valuation. To achieve this objective material ledger is mandatory in SAP S/4HANA.

Steps to Activate Material Ledger

Activate Material Ledger to Valuation Area

Step 1: Click on Activate Material Ledger

Step 2: Find Valuation Area

Step 3: Select Check Box ML Active

Step 4: Enter Price Determination procedure

Step 5: Click on Save

Define Material Ledger Type and Assign Currency Types

Assign Material Ledger Type to Valuation Area

Production Start-up of Material Ledger

Step 1: Enter Plant- 9566

Step 2: Select Processing Option- Background Processing

Step 3: Click on Execute Button  

• Material Ledger Productive for Plant 9566

Check Material Ledger Settings

Step 1: Enter Plant

Step 2: Click Tick on Display Accounts Check Box

Step 3: Execute

Here you will find that material Ledger Active and Productive to Valuation Area (9566).
