Introduction: Hello, everyone! . Welcome to our Game of High Flyers Series. We have Nehal Dhruve with us today, who will share her inspiring success story. Nehal Dhruve joined us in December last year and underwent SAP SD training, mastering various aspects of SAP, including SAP S/4HANA, job, and interview preparation, and certification. After months of dedicated effort, Nehal secured a job with a renowned SAP consulting company in Germany.
Starting from Diverse Backgrounds: Nehal's career path has been a diverse one. With 22 years of experience in various domains, including banking, call centers, and customer service, she decided it was time for a change. Being a mother of two girls and constantly moving due to her husband's job, Nehal aimed to find a profession she could rely on, regardless of location.
The Decision to Explore SAP SD: Nehal's interest in SAP SD was sparked by a relative's recommendation. With no background in IT, she initially spent two years watching videos on different plateforms while working as a relocation consultant. When the pandemic hit, Nehal realized it was time to pursue her goals seriously. She came across Sastrageek and began intensive training in December.
Overcoming Challenges and Embracing Learning: Although Nehal faced challenges as a working mother, she managed to immerse herself in SAP SD through videos and self-study. She quickly absorbed the knowledge by watching videos multiple times and participating in Sastrageek Gamifier sessions (Live Interactive Session). Nehal also emphasized the importance of going through the videos before attending live sessions, as it allowed her to ask relevant questions and engage actively in the learning process.

The Certification Journey and Job Offer: Motivated by her job offer, Nehal completed her SAP SD certification in June. In Germany, certifications hold significant value as they are often required even for entry-level positions. Nehal's extensive preparation paid off, and she successfully navigated through a comprehensive interview process that included group discussions, presentations, and personal interviews. The company recognized her expertise and offered her a two-month training period before transitioning to a full-time role.
The Significance of Certification and German Language: Certifications play a crucial role in the German job market, where adherence to rules and regulations is highly valued. Without certification, securing a job, even as a trainee, can be challenging. Nehal also highlighted the importance of learning German as it enables effective communication with clients, many of whom prefer conducting business in their native language.
The Job Market and Recommendations: Nehal emphasized that Germany's job market is currently favoring SAP professionals, especially in logistics and materials management (MM). Many companies are hiring trainees for a specific period before absorbing them as full-time employees. Nehal suggested using LinkedIn to create professional connections and references, even without personal contacts.
Crafting the CV for German Companies: Nehal emphasized the need for a German-language CV with relevant keywords when applying for jobs in Germany. Additionally, it is customary to include a professional photo in the CV, a requirement specific to Germany.
Conclusion: Nehal Dhruve's journey is a testament to the possibilities of career transformation, even at an age where many doubt its feasibility. Her determination, resilience, and commitment to learning SAP SD opened doors to new opportunities. Nehal's success story serves as motivation for others contemplating a career change, especially those who have crossed the age of 40.
