What is SAP R/2 System?


SAP R/2 is an older version of real-time Enterprise Resource Planning software produced by SAP AG, which was replaced by SAP R/3 System. The unique about R/2 was that it was packaged software application that processed real-time on a computer taking advantage of Time Sharing Options and integrated with all enterprise’s functions like, Accounting, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, Logistics and Human Resources.

What is SAP R/3 System?

The “R’ Stand for “Real-time data processing” and “3” was for “3-tier”

SAP R/3 System V/S S4HANA


In feb2015 launched SAP S/4HANA SAP’s next-generation ERP solution

SAP S/4HANA is a new Enterprise Resource Planning Solution with simplified

data, a simple tool design, agile, easier to use, perform complex calculations, and

greater amounts of data.

It can deployed on-premise, on-cloud, or as a hybrid system.

SAP HANA is an in-memory database technology which acts as the core

technology for lot of other SAP and Non-SAP applications.

ü SAP S/4HANA is a new generation ERP solution which run on SAP HANA

database architecture.
